Blog#1: Binyag 101 – Church

This is my first time to Blog. Please bear with me mga bloggers, friends and countrymen. 🙂

I will start of my blog looking for the nearest church in our place for my daughter Janel Ashwen Christening. Ang pinaka-malapit na church sa amin ay Pasig Church at Montefalco Church. I turned down ang Pasig Church because walang malapit na fine dining sa area more on fast foods like McDonalds, Jollibee, KFC, Pizza Hut (okay sana kaya lang maliit ang place) while Montefalco naman trying to contact their phone numbers pero walang sumasagot. I think that time (May) on renovation sila baka sira ang mga lines at may malapit na Shakey’s sa area which is yun talaga ang target ko na venue but unfortunately hindi ko ma-contact.

So started all over again, searching and calling. Eyeing naman ako sa church near sa mga malls ofcourse convenient, easy access & no need for bla-bla’s sa directions . Top on my list is the Megamall Chapel and Edsa Shrine. Unfortunately, Megamall chapel doesn’t cater any service like wedding, baptismal etc.. So moving on, my last on my list is Edsa Shrine. I called their office and wow.. Donation lang ang fee para sa binyag all they need is: Local/NSO Xerox copy of Birth Certificate, Xerox copy of Marriage Cert (if married) *Bring the orig.cert for validation*. Three babies lang ang I-accommodate nilang binyagan sa scheduled date (relief) at least hindi magulo unlike sa maramihan. No special/solo baptism. You and your partner must attend one Saturday seminar from 8am to 12noon (kids is strictly not allowed) before the date of your scheduled baptism which will be held at 2nd floor of the area (yes, you are so near sa statue ni Our Lady of Peace). Be punctual. They’re not entertaining late comers.

Rules to remember (strict):
1. Baby dress code should be all white with cap.
2. Parents, GodParents and Family should wear decent attire. (No shorts, slippers, body fit and revealing clothes) – strict! If wearing dress, it should be below the knee.
3. Kids must always be accompanied with adults. No loitering.
4. Be punctual.
5. Respond promptly. Be loud and clear. (Wag dedmahin si father kasi kayo-kayo lang ang andun)
6. Picture taking is okay but you must assign 1 photographer only.
7. Bring 1 white large candle only.

I do my ocular inspection with the church. At first, I thought na sa main chapel ang baptism area yun pala may small venue sila which is sa side lang naman ng church. Here’s the picture that I got.

When I zoomed this picture akala ko may mata (scary) pin light lang pala.

The Fountain, feels like super sacred because may direct light coming from outside feeling ko may bababa na anghel pag bubuhusan ng Holy Water si baby. Can’t wait to experience it.

The baptism area, thinking if kasya kaming lahat dito if Tatlong babies I-accommodate. Sa family and godparents ko pa lang. Ngek. Let’s see.

Also update na rin from seminar my husband tell me na possible daw mag-change yung venue kaya dapat daw talaga maging punctual atleast 30mins before the scheduled time andun ka na pwede kasi na I think lang Sa Servian hall gawin yung Baptism. Hindi ako nakapunta ng seminar, they excuse me kasi I’m breastfeeding my baby and I don’t have stash of milk kaya they forgive me na si hubby nalang ang umattend.

According to hubby, maganda ang lecture ng seminar. Hindi lang daw ito tungkol sa binyag it’s also counsel din sa mag-asawa. Sayang! Nakita ko sana ang reaction ni hubby kung pano tatagos sa puso nya ang buhay may pamilya. :)) looking forward pa naman ako sa ganung klaseng seminar.
